Music has been an important part of my life both before and during my time at IMS. Through trumpet performances, ensemble experiences, and piano, I have continued to challenge myself as a musician and become more confident performing in front of others.

Taking private trumpet lessons during Exeter Summer gave me the opportunity to focus more closely on my technique and musical expression. Working one-on-one with my instructor helped me recognize areas I could improve and become more confident in my playing. It was a valuable way to continue developing as a musician while spending my summer at Exeter.

My First Solo
Performing my first trumpet solo with the IMS Jazz Band was one of the most memorable moments of my first year at IMS. It was not only my first solo, but also one of my first performances at a new school, so I was extremely nervous. Finishing the performance successfully gave me a strong sense of accomplishment and helped me become much more confident as a musician.

Mozart Piano Concerto No. 21 in C Major
1st Movement
Prepared for Orchestra Performance | 2025
In 2025, I began preparing the first movement of Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 21 in C Major for a performance with an orchestra planned for November. Although the performance was ultimately put on hold when I left Korea to attend IMS, preparing the concerto was an important part of my musical development.
